We met in college and were both blockmates at UST. It started when I (Kerwin) saw her (Diana). It’s hard not to notice her, because she really does stand out in any crowd. I kept asking my classmates and some of her bakadas about her. Well, of course I courted her. I sometimes offer myself in helping her with some of the assignments or projects in school just so I can be with her. There, we started talking, telling stories, texting, chat on the internet. We have a lot in common, although Diana is more bubbly and more of a social person, we share the same interests, like we love traveling a lot, we love going to spa, we love all those pampering, and shopping of course! :)
After all the hardwork and “hard” challenges (haha), she finally gave me the big “YES”! It was on February 24, 2008. I can still vividly remember…We were supposed to have an appointment with a supplier, I had my driver pick her up at her house. She was kind of in a hurry so she didn’t want to go to my room anymore. But I ask my driver to tell her to go up. This is one of those days where we had plenty of work. There, I knew that this was one of the moments that I can surprise her and pop the question. I put the proposal ring in a giant makeup trolley case where there are lights pointing at the ring. There I kneel, and ask her hand in marriage. She had tears in her eyes that morning and I was so happy that she said YES.From there, it started a whole new chapter in our lives.
Amazingly, in our 3 years relationship, we haven’t gotten into a major fight or something. We are that compatible! :) Of course there were some unexpected situations, but I can assure you that all of them are external problems, meaning it’s not caused by any of us two. And, those problems? We have learned to shrug them off, not get affected, just be happy, and cherish what we have. What matters most is that we love each other and we take care of each other. :)
Kerwin:
For me, Diana is everything I could ever dream of. She’s sweet, funny, and pretty clever especially in numbers. Sometimes, she may be “masungit” and terrifying but I love her for it because no one’s perfect right? I accept her for who she is then, now and will be.
As for me, I love how patient Kerwin is,I love how loving he is, I love how sweet he is, I love how he makes me feel like a princess like no one else can, I love how he manages to stay calm even though there’s something we’re arguing about, I love how he makes me laugh, I love how he brightens up my day after the rain, I love how he makes me happy, and I especially love that we don’t have any pretensions when we’re together, he accepts me as I am, and I accept him as he is. Literally, words are just not enough. I agree, no one and nothing is perfect but, I can proudly say, he is my perfect half.
